FLAG AND STATE EMBLEM OF CANADAThe national anthem is «O Canada», and «God Save the Queen» is its royal anthem which is officially played in the presence of the Queen or other members of the royal family. The national flag is very recognizable red and white, with the red maple leaf in the centre. |

GEOGRAPHYCanada is the second biggest country in the world after Russia, thought it is much more sparsely populated. It covers all of the North American continent to the north of the USA except Alaska and the small French island s of St. Pierre and Miquelon near the Atlantic coast. PLANT LIfEThe biggest part of the land in Canada is occupied by tundra and taiga. Only 8% of the land is cultivated, and more than 50% is covered with forests which abound in valuable timber. The most valuable are the conifers. Canada is the 3-rd country in the world by its timber resources after Russia and Brazil. |

ANIMAL LIfEThe animal world of Canada is also very varied. Taiga has a lot of fur- bearing animals which have commercial importance. Reindeer, tundra wolves, arctic hares, white bears and polar foxes live in tundra; bears, wolves, foxes, lynxes, squirrels, hares, martens, beavers and other, in the forest. Millions of migratory birds inhabit laces and arctic island. Near the shore waters are rich with fish. |

MISSION HISTORICAL MUSEUMThis building is one of the oldest remaining in our city. Prefabricated in New Westminster, it was shipped by and train reconstructed on First Avenue in 1907 as the area's initial Bank of Commerce.
