Проводя данную работу учитель ставил перед собой несколько целей:

Привить учащемуся уважение к культуре страны изучаемого языка; научить самостоятельно добывать информацию, открывая новые источники, анализировать, делать выводы; учить сравнивать изучаемый язык с родным для повышения филологического образования; расширить лингвистический и страноведческий кругозор; развивать творческие интересы через ознакомление с языковым и культурным многообразием русского народа и народа страны изучаемого языка.

Работа над стихотворением включает основные этапы:

Подготовка учащихся к первичному прослушиванию стихотворения с целью снятия языковых трудностей (на доске записываются новые слова, незнакомые выражения); первичное прослушивание стихотворения; самостоятельное прочтение его учащимися; проверка понимания содержания, обсуждение прослушанного и анализ изобразительных средств языка; выразительное чтение стихотворения школьниками; перевод его учащимися на русский язык; знакомство с имеющимися переводами данного стихотворения; подбор пословиц, выражающих основную тему стихотворения; творческое задание на дом: подготовить свой, по возможности стихотворный перевод.

On April 23, 1564 a son, William, was born to John and Mary Shakespeare in Stratford - upon – Avon. His mother was a daughter of a farmer. His father was a glove- maker. William went to a Grammar school in Stratford and had quite a good education. There he learned to love reading. While still a teenager, William married Anne Hathaway, a farmer`s daughter some years older than himself. He helped his father in the family business. During these years his three children were born: two daughters and a son. In 1587 Shakespeare went to work in London. There he began to act and write plays and soon became an important member of a well – known acting company. Most of his plays were performed in the new Globe Theatre. In 1613 he stopped writing and went to live to Stratford where he died in 1616. His plays are still acted not only in England but in the whole world.
