Coins for Math practice: Soon we will begin our unit on counting money. Studies have shown that students learn better using real coins. We would appreciate it if you could send these coins to school with your child as soon as possible: 20 pennies 10 nickels 10 dimes 4 quarters When it asks for money on the Home Links, you will not need to send it in since you will be doing it all at once now at the beginning of the year. These coins will be returned at the end of the year.

4 Family Journals

Family Journals

Family Journals are due each Monday. Families are asked to read what your child wrote and make a short comment. On Monday, students will receive a sticker to decorate their journal if they have returned their notebook with a comment. It is a great way for students to practice their writing skills and a great keepsake to remember the things we are doing in first grade!
